Tough Mudder’s ambitious idea for Mudder Nation to reach one million acts of kindness during these strange and uncertain times may have felt a little far-fetched when we first begun. But with inspirational people and stories, like that of Beckie Blundell being highlighted through the #HelpAHundred project we’re confident that Mudder Nation can make the positive difference we had hoped.
That’s where Harriot Whelan comes in. UK Mudders might recognize Harriot from Tough Mudder events as she’s been getting Mudder Nation moving as a Lucozade Sport Made to Move ambassador and tackling obstacles with you out on course for the last couple of years. On Saturday 25th April Harriot, alongside her boyfriend James, will be taking on a WODathon (that’s workout out of the day) which means that for 24 hours they’ll be taking on a different workout on the hour every hour to raise money for the NHS.
This epic undertaking has been inspired by both their Mum’s who are working on the frontline in the NHS, and in response to Harriot’s mum sadly contracting COVID-19 (she’s currently recovering from its effects).
They’d love to get as many people moving as possible so if you’d like to get involved, Harriot will be going live on her Instagram throughout the day, or drop her a DM to join their Zoom workouts. If you can’t join in but would still like to donate head to their JustGiving page.
If this has inspired you to give a helping hand in your own way, check out our #HelpAHundred project for some simple ideas to make a positive impact in your community. Don’t forget to tell us about your acts of kindness on social media using #HelpAHundred, and let’s smash that 1 million target.
