This weekend we’re kicking off the first West Coast event of the season on one of the most storied motocross courses in California – Glen Helen Raceway. This ain’t our first time turning the hills of San Bernardino into Tough Mudder territory, so we decided to switch things up in 2016 and created a course that’ll knock your (muddy) socks off.
Using every inch of the 256-acres available, Tough Mudder LA is bigger and more badass than ever before, leaving only one question – are you ready for it?
Whether you’re tackling Tough Mudder tomorrow, or Tough Mudder Half on Sunday here are a few (okay, 9) things to be on the lookout for:
LA LIVESTREAM
Don’t miss the first-ever, multi-camera Livestream premiering at 7:30am PDT. With 3 cameras fixed on your favorite obstacles and one live reporter covering all of the action on the ground you’ll feel like you’re up to your pits in mud from the comfort of your couch.
Bigger Than Ever
Compared to previous years, the 2016 LA course is way more spread out. Using every nook and cranny available, expect more hills, more water, and more obstacles.
More Mud
More water = more mud. Aside from old favorites Mud Mile and Pitfall, Quagmire and Kiss of Mud will be gracing you with their presence this year.
NEW Obstacles
Epic new obstacles Frequent Flyers Club, Rain Man, Backstabber, and The Block Ness Monster (among others) are making their West Coast debut.
Beyond the Finish Line
Keep your adrenaline rush going after you cross the finish line in Mudder Village. Test new Merrell gear on their signature obstacle ‘The Mudderhorn’, then go full-throttle on Old Spice’s signature creation ‘Pop n Lock’ – all while sipping on a crisp Shock Top, obviously.
Captain America: Civil War Challenge
Watch 250 Mudders in Iron Man and Captain America costumes participate in the ultimate showdown starting at 8:00am PDT. Stick around (or tune in) to see which superhero team crosses the finish line first. Learn more about the challenge HERE.
#MUDDERVATION from Jen Widerstrom
If Biggest Loser trainer Jen Widerstrom’s motivational phrases don’t get you pumped to fight fears and crush the course, we don’t know what will. Catch her in the Warm Up Zone at 10am and along the course throughout the day.
Make Mud Matter: John Wayne Foundation
Swing by the John Wayne Cancer Foundation tent on Saturday or Sunday to find out how you can help this Tough Mudder Charity Family member spread awareness for their cause in 2016.
Grey’s Anatomy + Tough Mudder Half
On Sunday, lookout for the cast and crew of Grey’s Anatomy as they tackle Tough Mudder HALF on Sunday morning to raise awareness for LA based nonprofit My Friends Place. Donate to their Crowdrise page HERE for a chance to win lunch with the cast and an afternoon on the set.
