Well what an adventure we’ve had these past three weeks. Those who took on Tough Mudder Challenge – Fiji have travelled 93,047 miles, climbed 3,090,423 feet and island hopped a whopping 104,562 times in just 21 days – and that’s just those who have crossed the finish line already.
You Mudders really take the ‘Challenge Accepted’ notion and run, squat and bear crawl with it. We continue to be amazed by the motivation, commitment and most of all, the community spirit that brings the feel of an IRL Tough Mudder event to Tough Mudder Challenges. Vinaka Mudder Nation (that’s Fijian for thank you).
The Tough Mudder Challenges Facebook Group has provided us with a whole load of inspiration, and a little gagging (Chris Hill we’re talking about you with the dog food), but mostly we love how everyone is getting stuck in. So, here is a little round-up of some of our best bits of Tough Mudder Challenge – Fiji.
Showing Sally Who’s Boss
Mudder Nation appears to be having a real love-hate relationship with Sally. She seems harmless at first but let’s face it, can be brutal. Some of you were happy to welcome her into your life again, you’d met before and it was nice to rekindle that relationship. Some of you were new acquaintances and say she’s not someone you want to meet again any time soon, and that’s putting it lightly. Whether you love or hate her, for the majority of you, Sally has the power to make you go weak at the knees…
Overcoming All Fears
Mudders, you never fail to amaze us. We have been blown away at the number of you who have overcome serious fears to complete Waterfall and Shower of Champions.
Layonie Lois not only has a fear of water, but can’t swim so naturally she completed Shower of Champions on a stand up paddle board in open water whilst her boyfriend and best friend chucked water over her. We applaud you Leyonie, great effort.
Sam Gascoigne and Matt Carpenter both overcame their fears with the help of their Mudder Family. Neither can swim and both hate water but with the guidance and support of those around them, completed the Waterfall Challenge under an actual waterfall. These Mudders definitely uphold the Tough Mudder values of teamwork and being tougher together.
Eco-warriors Unite
It warmed the cockles of our THMQ hearts to see just how many of you took part in our Eco-Warrior challenge. You embraced teamwork, made a real difference in your local community and were even inspired to think about your own recycling habits in more detail. We and all the cute little animals thank you. Keep up the good work Mudder Nation.
You Made it
Whether this is the first stamp in your Challenger passport, or you came with us to the Grand Canyon, we can’t wait to see you donning your Challenger swag and sharing your finisher photos with us – Remember you can head over to our Instagram and try our latest filter whilst you wait for your Tough Mudder Challenges headband to arrive.
Where are we off to next we hear you ask – Well, everyone has that one epic road trip on their bucket list, so why not get into gear and tick one off with us? That’s right, we’re going on a European Road Trip where we’ll hit the sights while you crush your goals. Bring your teammates, pack your snacks and we’ll see you on the road Mudders.
